Folio requires iOS 26 or later on iPhone. On-device AI summaries and flashcards need a supported iPhone with Apple Intelligence enabled. Recording and transcription may work on other iOS 26 devices with varying AI availability.
Check that Folio has Microphone and Speech Recognition permission in Settings → Folio. Stay on Wi‑Fi the first time — Apple may download speech models. Open the lecture and tap Retry if processing failed.
After transcription, Folio Premium generates summaries, concept chips, and flashcards using Apple’s on-device intelligence. Free tier includes transcription only (limited recordings per week). Upgrade in Settings or restore a previous purchase.
Open Folio → Settings → tap Restore purchases. Use the same Apple ID you bought Premium with. If restore fails, confirm the purchase completed in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions / Purchase History.
Open the lecture → Summary tab → tap Generate summary. Folio will build summaries and flashcards from the existing transcript.

Open a lecture → menu (⋯) → Share with Folio users or AirDrop Folio lecture. The recipient opens the .foliolecture file in Folio. Audio is included when sharing from the device that recorded it.
Archived lectures move to Settings → Archived recordings. They are kept for 30 days, then removed automatically. Restore anytime before purge.
Enter a referral code in Settings → Referral code. Valid codes unlock Premium access or education pricing depending on the campaign. Contact your school rep or email us if a code doesn’t work.
